Journalist, historian,and press photographer.

I began working with Al-Ahram Al-Riyadi in 1992 and continued as a correspondent until 2021. I wrote interviews and investigations, covered football and other sports, and photographed moments on the pitch and the lives around it.

Alongside journalism, I held advertising roles across Al-Ahram’s publications. My final position at the institution was Director of Advertising at Al-Ahram Al-Iqtisadi, covering advertising management and the preparation and marketing of supplements, inserts, and special editions.

Between 2016 and 2018, I wrote for Bawabet Al-Hadarat about Mahalla’s history and heritage: its photographers, craftspeople, local figures, and textile industry. Places, photographs, and personal testimony are central to my research into the stories that shaped the city.

My television work includes programme preparation and reporting for 30 Minutes with El-Khatib, Stad Al-Nil, and Da’erat Al-Daw’. I also contribute historical research, archival material, and preparation to documentaries, and appeared as a guest in Nu’man Pasha al-A’sar, Abdel Hay Pasha Khalil, and The Peasants’ Fortress.

In 2021, I contributed to Legendary Egyptian Bands at Cairo Jazz Festival, held at AUC’s Margo Veillon Gallery. I presented a section on the history of Western music in Mahalla, bringing together photographs and historical research into the city’s bands.
